The Student Loan Repayment Center services certain loans disbursed to Mizzou students.  The loans we service are:

• Perkins
• Health Profession
• Nursing
• University Loans

As students graduate or leave MU, it is crucial to their financial success to understand their loans.   The Student Loan Repayment Center provides Exit Counseling to help students understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as inform them about deferment and cancellation benefits available. 

In 2008, the Student Loan Repayment Center processed 2,496 deferments; up from 1,401 in 2005.  A large portion of these deferments are student deferments, although Economic Hardship deferment requests are increasing rapidly.  These deferments involve direct contact with the student and individual review to verify eligibility.

When a loan becomes past due, the Student Loan Repayment Center staff makes numerous attempts to contact the borrower to make payment arrangements or to see if they are eligible for a deferment.  If the borrower doesn't respond, the account is then referred to an outside collection agency.

**New in August 2009 - our loan system will switch to ECSI.  ECSI is a company that helps schools service student loans.  Borrowers will have online access to their loan account.Contact
